This release Mark's the end of a two year musical hiatus for the former frontman of The Altobeelays, Dan Weiss.


"I wanted to get back to my frenzied writing-recording process of my early 20s. Just me, no friction. I miss playing live, but that doesn't seem like a possibility for the near future so that kinda fueled the decision to trust myself to get the results I hear in my head."


The track was written, recorded, and mixed entirely by Dan at his home studio in about a week.


"The process was great, it's pretty refreshing to knock something out so quickly. I'm just anxious to get back to making music again."


Lazer Monk is aiming for something in the middle of varied influences, where David Bowie, Daft Punk, The Beatles, Fugazi, Parliament, and Led Zeppelin meet.


"I've never been a fan of genre. It sucks to make a statement about yourself that limits people's expectations. You either deliver something they don't want or they get tired of it. I'd rather combine my favorite records into a Frankensteined orgy of dirty music and see what I can get away with."
